Dear Brothers,
I thank you for participating in welcoming our newest Entered Apprentices, Eric Boyle, and David Stewart, at our February Communication. I was excited to bring these candidates into our lodge and look forward to seeing their journey to become Master Masons. I wanted to take a moment to thank my officers for the degree work. I am proud of the line officers for their dedication and hard work. It is my sincerest hope that you enjoyed the evening as much as I did.
Here is a quick recap since my last message:
- Our most junior past master continued his “What Now” workshop for new Master Masons this past month, and it was a productive and engaging time where our newest Masons (and some from other lodges) received even more light to guide them through their first few years in our craft.
- We also had our annual Cigar dinner which was another well-attended event for brothers within and without the district.
- The Lodge should have two new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the building for our March Communication, one in the lodge room, and one on the first floor. I am excited that we will have these amazing lifesaving tools in our building and hope we will never need to use them. If you are interested in participating in training for these units, please contact Brother Secretary to be added to our list.

Something to think about:
In the spirit of the Lodge preparing to purchase the AED units, I have been reflecting on how preparation as a virtue connects to me (and you) being a Mason, (go with me for a minute) if we reflect on the importance of preparation in our lives as Masons, I am reminded that it is not just a practical aspect, but also a moral and spiritual one. By embracing preparation as a fundamental virtue, we demonstrate a sense of responsibility and respect for ourselves and others. While fostering growth and understanding, preparation is closely tied to the concept of self-improvement, which is a cornerstone of our Masonic values. By being prepared, we are more likely to engage fully in lodge activities, participate in discussions, and take on roles needed around the Lodge. This, in turn, would foster personal growth, character development, and a deeper understanding of Masonic principles. I invite every one of us to hop on this path to greater engagement and service together, as I (hopefully we) strive to become more prepared Masons, we open ourselves up to greater opportunities for growth and service. By being prepared, we are better equipped to serve our fellow brothers, our community, and the greater good. We can become more effective leaders, more compassionate brothers & friends, and more dedicated servants of the fraternity. As we look to the future of our Lodge, let’s remember that preparation is not just a virtue, but a legacy we can leave behind for generations to come. By embracing preparation as a fundamental aspect of our Masonic lives, we create a culture of responsibility, respect, and self-improvement that will continue to inspire and guide us for years to come. Let us strive to be more prepared, more responsible, and more dedicated to the principles of Freemasonry. Together, we can create a brighter future for ourselves, our brothers, and our community.
Please, feel free to reach out to me at any time to discuss the lodge, our craft, or anything that you might be thinking about for masonry and our lodge. I would be happy to hear your thoughts and coordinate any ideas you might have to help our Masonic family move forward.
Yours in the Craft,
Brian K. White, WM
