OMG, it’s February! I can’t believe it’s almost been a month since the Annual!

We jumped right in to our busy and fulfilling namesake year (J24 in 2024) with the Grandmaster’s Visitation to his Mother Lodge right here at Jenks on Jan. 22, which also saw two brethren receive their awards from December. W:. Junior Past Master Robert Frank came to the East and presented R:.W:. Bryan Martin with the Shammus award for all he does for the community, for the lodge and for freemasonry in general. Bro. Nicholas Oliver received his Mason of the Year award, and we are all in gratitude for the extraordinary work he put forth in helping W:. Bill Santos get the assistance he needed before he passed. Thank you again, Nick, and a hearty congratulations and respectful bow to you both.

On Friday, the 26th we had a super fun social event at Top Golf in Cranston. We had Past Masters, Officers, Members, Candidates and ladies attend and everyone enjoyed it so much we can’t wait to go back!

By the time you read this I will have completed my “What Now” workshop for new Master Masons to guide them through their first few years as MMs. It’s part of my efforts this year to increase the mentoring going on within Jenks Lodge and RI Freemasonry.

I am looking forward to our annual Cigar dinner to be held this year on a Sunday afternoon (Feb 18 at 2:00) to try to make it a better situation for some of our older brethren to attend. Please see an officer or the Jenkslodge.com website for tickets.

On Feb 26 we will have our Entered Apprentice degree. Please try to come and support our newest brethren! The officers have been working hard to put on a truly great degree.

I will leave you with this…
Remembering our theme of this year of MEANING AND CONNECTION,
who do you care about that you haven’t reached out to recently? Maybe a Family member? An Old friend? A Masonic Brother you haven’t seen lately?  When is Now a good time to take a minute to say hello? Do it today. I promise you’ll be glad you did.

I look forward to seeing you at a meeting, visitation or event soon. And please, feel free to let me know how we’re doing and allow me to fill you in on all our plans for the year!

In true brotherhood,

Rick Wilmott, WM
